Life in 24-hour chunks July 29, 2015 – Posted in: Confidence, Spirituality – Tags: , , , , , , , , , ,

Many years ago I was introduced to the concept of living life in 24-hour chunks. It was a very alien concept for someone who was well versed in worrying about/regretting/resenting the past and worrying about/fearing/plotting the future. In fact, the concept was so foreign to me that I failed to integrate it into my life because I just couldn’t see how it would be possible to live one day at a time.

I didn’t understand.

Today, it’s different and I’m incredibly grateful to the wise teachers who have showed me how to live 24-hours a day at a time because it’s a beautiful and liberating way to live.

Now, please don’t misunderstand me! I DO NOT manage this all the time. However, I do try and the times in which I’m focussed on the day I’m in and each task in hand are the days in which I feel most connected and peaceful.

So, I would encourage you to focus on today. What can you do well today? What needs to wait for another day? What are you worrying about that lives in the past and should stay there?

We only have today. That’s not a scary thought but a profoundly freeing one because it allows me to Be Here Now.
