A Life Well Lived June 3, 2015 – Posted in: Confidence, Personal Development – Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

You know when you keep hearing the same phrase repeated over a period of time? Well, over the past 24 hours I’ve read and heard the phrase, “it’s always darkest before the dawn” three times. I think life is trying to tell me something!

So, what does this phrase actually mean?

I think for me right now it means I shouldn’t give up on my dreams! That when my plans seem out of reach they are probably just around the corner. Or that my next significant step towards my dreams is about to be realised if I just hold onto my faith in life and do the next right thing.

However, in a funny way, the opposite is also true because it’s when things seem impossible that I surrender to them and THEN dawn breaks! When I stop resisting what ‘is’ and start accepting and being grateful for the life I have, new horizons seem to open up.

It’s a paradox that I guess can be summed up like this: I have a vision of the future but I must live my best each day, focussed on today and what life is giving me to work on right now. Some days are dark, some days are light – they all add up to a life well lived if we allow them to.
