The Only Certainty in Life is Uncertainty July 20, 2015 – Posted in: Confidence, Personal Development, Relationships – Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

If there’s one thing I’ve come to terms with and accepted in recent years it’s that the only certainty in life is uncertainty.

For years I tried to control every aspect of my life and it was a bit like trying to peg down a tent in high winds. Because my life can’t be pegged down and neither can yours!

None of us knows how long we’ll live, who we’ll meet tomorrow, what news (good or bad) may come over the telephone.

My dad worked very hard for 30 years in a job he didn’t particularly like in order to be able to retire comfortably but he died aged 55. No retirement.

I’m not saying it’s wrong to plan for the future or to be wise with your money. But if your plans aren’t in alignment with the facts – that life is an ever changing feast – then you will become disappointed, disillusioned and embittered.

So make your plans but hold the outcomes lightly. Because life may have other ideas for you – better ideas, bigger plans, different dreams. The fact is we don’t know what life will throw our way but peace comes in accepting this and going with the flow.

Live well today and let tomorrow take care of itself.
