Relationships and Fear July 8, 2015 – Posted in: Relationships – Tags: , , , ,

Let’s talk about relationships. Because whatever problems you have in your relationships (with others, with yourself, with life itself) is likely to be fear-based. We tend to be fearful of one (or some, or all) of the following…

Rejection
Loss of popularity
Loss of security
Change
Conflict
Criticism
Being taken advantage of
Failure

When we are acting from a place of fear we tend to become defensive, aggressive, sulky, manipulative or panicky. And, if the person we’re relating to is also acting from fear then you have a recipe for dysfunction.
Knowing that you’re afraid (acknowledging it) and asking yourself what the person you’re communicating with might also be afraid of can help you to rise above the fear and engage your wiser self in order to reach a more peaceful resolution.
